My husband, Scott, and I have been married since December 2001. In the past five years we have been blessed to travel to many places. We have traveled to England, Curacao, Cancun (three times), a Western Caribbean cruise, Bahamian Cruise, New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Colorado Springs, Orlando, Phoenix and several trips to Tennessee to watch the Cats play football! It is our love of travel that got us to start our own travel agency, A-Cross The Globe. We want to put a personal touch in every customer's travel plans while we strive to do business in a Godly, Christ-like manner. Visit our website for more information!

Here is a picture of our family in Cancun last October. J.W. is not fully visible but he is there!

I don't know if anyone else has heard of the NFL's decision to shut down Fall Creek Baptist Church's (Indianapolis, IN) "Super Bowl" Party but I has made me extremely upset! Our church, First Baptist Church Russell, KY was forced to cancel our event in the light of the NFL's position about out-of-home events. The NFL cited copyright infringement for the basis of the possible lawsuit. I understand the basis for copyrights but when you cannot find the copyright explained anywhere what are you to do? I am a faithful fan of the NFL and the Dolphins but this has caused me to become disheartened with the organization. I know many churches in our local area that have been hosting "Super Bowl" parties for years and they all violate the "One television of 55 inches or smaller" clause.

You may have the same questions I have about the clauses in the copyright law. What about a sports bar? They have several TV's and many of them are larger than 55 inches. Many of them charge a cover to watch the game. Well, my friend, they are ok. Why? According to the NFL, they can show the game because they offer TV programming as a part of their normal business activity. What about home TV parties? They are ok no matter what size TV or even if you charge your guests because it is in your home. They don't care about that! Your in-home viewing does not interfere with Nielsen ratings or the revenue the NFL receives for commercials, at $2 million for a 30-second spot. What do you think about the NFL's stance on out-of-home "Super Bowl" parties?

Listed below are a few points that Fall Creek were in violation.
1. One television of 55 inches or smaller.
2. No admission fees can be charged.
3. No use of the phrase "Super Bowl".
4. No use of the NFL or "Super Bowl" logo.
5. No use of the "Super Bowl" telecast in order to promote a message.
